Stamp of approval

As it turned out that the watch us to a bank $20 get our visa stamp sent not take deposit where..., part of the process. And as we it done in Quito get didnt and it no Office in Cuenca to this particular stamp, is we had to get it done head down to Guayaquil before our first 30 days have elapsed.

Saturday night, we in the apartment of dameon and Karen went Walker, a couple from Cleveland, until your two young, Elijah and Joseph, packaged, and decided to try South America approximately at the same time we have done it. We have been hanging out with you something, Justin and dameon binding through a common love for the NBA and beer and Chris and Karen bonding of what women of (probably idiotic husbands) bond. Karen cooked some awesome chicken tenders and Mac n' cheese and we all went from each drop of beer and wine in their place to Polish.

After a slow start Sunday morning we threw a few things in our backpacks and drove from the bus station. Around noon we boarded the bus for Guayaquil,

expect approximately four hours later arrive. Unfortunately the bus had other ideas. Somewhere to the 90-minute mark, we moved about on the side of the road... apparently had not correctly the left front tyre was installed and was to fly. Ecuadorian way was the right tools to repair the problem take the bus. So we sat by the page to get the replacement bus take road in the foggy view from our high point near Cajas National Park and wait. Two hours later we were on our way back.

Say someone from Cuenca visiting Guayaquil is about how to say you are someone from Iowa NYC visit... After awhile, you feel like you should get a medal if you not raped and murdered for three hours. More than twice the size of Quito, Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador and the Centre of Commerce and industry. With about 3 million people and no mountains around it in the hem is a sprawling metropolis. The energy on the streets pulsating compared to the silence of the much smaller Cuenca (think Chicago vs.) San Fran, which are,

approximately the same population sizes). While certainly somewhere you won't know it areas, we found refreshing familiar the hustle and bustle.

After check-in comfortable Dreamkapture hostel, we took a walk around the suburban Alborada neighborhood. First we went to the local shopping mall packed with families at 7 on a Sunday night. We checked out then a line of crab huts where we grabbed dinner. Much to the delight of local we fall in crab bits as we smash and delicious bite searched for meat. After a quick bite ice cream we headed back to the hostel, where was Justin able to see the all star game battle Kobe and LeBron.

The next morning we woke up early to the Visa Office as close to open as possible. After a quick detour to a stranded Swedish couple terminal drop off we came downtown Government House, to find a swarm of people. Questions a guard where you go, we were to a mostly empty basement office aimed to facilitate. The Secretary gives us said, we needed to

go to the second floor. On our way back until we sent back with the guard, us checks back down. Try our luck with the clerks found who we were in place.

However, although we we had said everything would come (copies of passport number 5 envelopes [not number 4 for your Senso show how get]), were we are missing a few things. After the scribe of list we gave our chef he sighed and the template for a Spanish letter we signed the, which our name stuck even though we still don't know what you said. He motioned to a manila envelope which we supposed to have sighed and put a paper clip on our papers. Then he sent for our $20 bank deposit us where it has correctly completed by two protective equipment for us, our deposit slips.

When we returned triumphantly he saw how idiots... where were our goddamned manila envelopes with us? We shrugged her shoulders and back out, finally, a few blocks for headed down a paper store. Eventually left after our tasks, we stamped our passports

to come back in 90 minutes with the instructions.

Guayaquil recently recently bought in theory that downtown will say see plenty if you build a Riverwalk (see San Antonio). Stretching over 2.5 km, is a quiet track Guayaquil's shallow, muddy river reminded Justin of similar space in Charleston, the Malecon 2000 (though, the only Similiarity between the two cities). In the middle of a statue is found to commemorate the 1822 meeting between revolutionary legends Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin. Along the walk are more statues, fountains, food stands, artisan booths, a beautiful botanical gardens, children's pool, an exercise room, museums and one of only two IMAX theatres in South America. It was pleasant, except for the overwhelming heat it was almost as we stood near the Equator on the sea in the middle of the day.

After wings of Parque Seminario, which is plenty iguana (rightly) known for its population; Picking up our passports and signing our names in the official immigrant registration; and grab an Almuerzo for lunch (menu of the day, usually a soup, main dish, rice and juice for about $2), we drove down

the Malecon 2000 Las Peñas, sits the artistic centre of the city, the features colorful houses on the steep slopes. We staggered that we were broke alleys and stairways, fear, in flame every minute. At the top we ascended to the observation tower and got a panoramic view of the sprawling city. After searching for the way to the bottom of the Hill after yet another ice cream (ice is everywhere here... and everyone is thin), we jumped into a taxi and headed back to Cuenca... Thank God, the bus was able to it all this time...
