WOW... over the past weekend we had guests from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada... and because you no time spent in St Louis, we decided to go for the day. We live only about an hour and fifteen minutes south of the city.
Visit of the arc was an experience like no other. They were impressed, the beauty and the engineering feat, this national miracle. It is part of the National Park and Memorial... and therefore by the US Government and the city of St. Louis. Today, plans shape the area around the arc to improve and more users even fashion friendly... to start I hope it will take many years not toooo!
After a light lunch at Laclede's landing we went very close to the arch grounds and about a block from the Mississippi River... west a few miles to Lindell Blvd, where the Basilica of St. Louis is located. Stop Cathedral there until 1907 was, but the most impressive part, the millions of mosaic pieces throughout the Interior, lasted up to 88 years of Byzantine style! Just amazing!
I have many, many of
the beautiful cathedrals of Europe during my twelve travel there, but I don't think there's something... incredible! My images it... so many of the mosaic not just pieces in real gold are covered, that makes you really shine in the light. How it been many years since I had been there, I was overwhelmed at once in beauty. And... so were our Canadian friends!I urge you to stop and this artificial miracles the next time the you that or to see close to St Louis! After I have this, you agree with me that....
LIFE is simply incredible great!......And I hope it's for all of you, too! (My thoughts go out to people of Christchurch, this morning... we come your way New Zealand in two weeks from today!)
